I don't ever wish to enter that blog again; it's enough just to see the pure evil that is in that video, but it's almost the icing on the cake to read the red-neck responses. No offense, Kevin, but ALL of it sucks.
They're pissed off, and understandably so. I'm sorry but I can't equate someone spouting off in a post to a 17yr old girl getting a cinderblock through the head. Totally different ballpark. That was one of the most savage acts I've ever seen in my life.
You know, actually, I have no problem with the redneck outrage, and it's not just because I'm from the South and happen to live in Texas. I believe our spirit of permissiveness has invited tolerance for this very type of outrage whilst visiting scorn upon the very fundament of Western civilization - it's an upside-down world. And as for the rednecks, I'm happy to know there are still people in the world who will stand up and defy such vile brutality.
It disturbs me that some people would deny others the ability to express that very justifiable righteous indignation.
Oh, and I was happy to link you - I hope you got some traffic out of the deal - I watched that video several times, giggling as I went.
We're in a time when the world has gotten so small, these sorts of tribal horrors feel like they are happening close to home. We can't trake solis any more in the idea that they are on the other side of the planet. They move here, and as in Britain, demand to have separate schools for girls and islamic law! I'm not proud to hear some goober spout off a silly rant, but what do you expect when this sort of thing is so totally alien to our life?
