...Chavez is pulling another one out of the Communist/Socialist playbook -- silencing the press. Only it seems like the people aren't too hip to this and there's a lot of rioting going on down there. I'm not sure if this is a serious threat to his power, but from what I'm hearing, quite a broad cross-section of the populace is manning the barricades this time. I'm just waiting for Chavez to start blaming the US - that one gets plenty of play with this guy.
Guess we'll just have to see what happens - unfortunately, things tend to get bloody when Communist dictators feel threatened... this is going to be NOTHING like the May Day protest in L.A.
Just another reason to be profoundly thankful that I live in the US.

I just flashed on the image of Mussolini hanging up side down in that gas station in Milan. We won't be so lucky.
