Well, there you have it...

Al Gore won the peace prize. Leftist politics trumps all at the institute, I suppose. He joins some august company, most notably Yasser Arafat. He's lagging a little in the body count, though... I'm sure he can make that up if he gets enough of his policies pushed through here and in Europe, however...

Wow, and I used to think the Nobel Peace Prize was a notable award. Then again it was when I studied notable people like Albert Schweitzer (sp?). Oh well...another preconceived notion from my youth has been destroyed.

It's just like any other contest these days - rigged to reflect the sensibilities of a few people who are trying to manipulate sympathies. Just like the Oscars, the Nobel prize is only an approximation of what it proclaims itself to be, and in this case, of course, it's utterly off-the-mark.
