Citizenship...

I'm going to apply for citizenship this month, because the current cost is $330, and next month it goes up to $590. And, it's about time I did it. I've been in the States since 1989, and have held a green card for over 12 years, so I'm eligible to apply. I'm 35 years old and have never voted, so I need to step up. The Republic needs me! Say NO to communism/socialism/liberalism!!!
Wish me luck...

Man, I was born in Bermuda in 1960, on an old Lend/Lease base my folks were stationed at. Had to get my citizenship papers at the age of 6 when we were about to move from the states to England for another tour of duty. Something about having to chose which citizenship I was gonna have. My sis was born in England in 54 when they were stationed there the first time, so we both feel very British in our roots. Think about dual citizenship, but not gonna go there. It's in the heart, and that's what's important. So congrats on joining our little club. Now you need to get the hell out of Cali and move to Tejas. Get you a BIG gun safe and some wide open spaces to play in.

My parents kinda went with the dual citizenship - they just kept their British passports. I have a lot of love for my homeland, but seeing the news coming out of there lately just makes me hang my head.
